Spring has officially sprung which means the return of
printed pants. You are absolutely right if you are thinking that printed pants
were also trendy in the spring of 2013. I am going to go out on a limb and
predict that they will also be popular next spring. They are perfect for the
light, fun and easy-breezy qualities that spring embodies. Printed pants are
also associated with fall, of course, but the prints are more traditional and
far less whimsical than the printed pants of spring. Is it time to put away the printed pants of
fall such as plaid, pinstripes and houndstooth? Not necessarily. In fact,
traditional fall prints are still around. They have either remained visually
intact or have just been transposed onto lighter fabrics or paired with pastel
shades. Animal prints such as zebra print and leopard print, for instance,
don’t have an expiration date on when they can be worn. Zebra print, in
particular, remains a common print for the printed pants of spring. Even houndstooth,
typically thought of as a fall staple has come along for the ride into spring.
The easy elegance of black and white outfits has a lot to do with the
transitional endurance of these type of prints. If black and white prints are not your thing how about ikat and snakeskin? Both are widely popular prints this season. Of course, I could never forget the endless popularity of floral prints which once again reign supreme during warm weather season.
The printed pants of spring, in my opinion, also tend include
a much broader range of prints to choose from than the prints of fall. Palm
trees, clouds, cherries, pineapples and a host of other fun prints suddenly form
a charming partnership with pants during warm weather months. I could not be
more intrigued by pants than I am when they contain a pink polka dot print for
instance. Spring pants have the type of cuteness factor that simply cannot be
used to describe the printed pants of autumn. There are plenty of prints to go around. It's all about what you favor. A few of the printed pants on my dreamlist are those from Etro and Vivienne Tam. Fortunately, for those whom are charmed by printed pants, they
come in many silhouette variations which makes finding an ultra-flattering fit
for one’s figure relatively effortless. Whether you prefer high-waisted,
cigarette, harem or flat-front there is bound to be a pair of printed pants to
suit your spring time needs. Printed pants in silk, sateen and other luxe
fabrics are commonly referenced as pajama pants but don’t let that fool you. If
you are not into the relaxed fit printed pants that are so commonly seen on
city streets this spring then there are a multitude of fitted pants available.
I have a preference for those of the more fitted variety, myself, but regardless
of your choice you will be one among many this spring if you decide to join the

If you don’t have any printed pants but are looking to join in
on the printed pants trend this spring perhaps a sporty-luxe pair will meet
your needs. Paired with a lace or crochet blouse, a clutch bag and statement
jewelry you will be at your glamorous best as you chillax with friends and

Tip: The best way to style printed pants, unless you are a master at mixing prints, is with either a solid-colored or a color-blocked top that picks up no more than two shades included in the print; otherwise, you risk creating a look that is "too busy."
